Mori Seiki Horizontal Machining Centers
Mori Seiki machining centers lead metalcutting industry in terms of both technology and original know-how. High-performance machining centers developed by concentrating the Mori Seiki wealth of knowledge and technological style.

Mori Seiki's NH4000 DCG™
In its commitment to technology, Mori Seiki has developed the industry's most advanced horizontal machining center to date. The powerful NH4000 DCG employs technologies never before combined, giving the customer the best in dynamic characteristics and surface quality. Now users have the ability to contour more accurately, accelerate among positions 38% faster, and experience less residual vibration.
The NH4000 DCG is the result of 450 of the world's greatest engineering minds working to solve an industry-wide problem - increasing performance while minimizing vibration. To do so, Mori Seiki created new technology:
Driven at the Center of Gravity (DCG™) — The net driving force acts through the center of the axis. The NH4000 DCG contains a twin ballscrew drive on the X-axis that enables a significant reduction in vibration without sacrificing speed for accuracy. Unlike machines using dual ballscrews in all three axes, which can reduce the overall dynamic response of the machine, the new N machines only incorporate twin ballscrews when it provides benefit.
Force Loop Advanced Shape (FLASH™) — The NH4000 DCG has been designed with a more stable platform that increases rigidity on all axes. The NH4000 DCG's new design allows machining forces to traverse across the box-in-box structure and through the bed, forming a closed loop, and resulting in a more stable platform.
Minimum Moving Mass (M3™) — Through comprehensive digital analysis, the ideal mass was developed to improve accuracy and dynamic response, without compromising strength or vibration damping.
The newly designed clamping mechanism for the 15.7" square pallet uses a two-face cone couplers. This feature benefits users most in high-thrust cuts near the top of the Y-axis travel. In this situation, the NH4000 can handle significantly more chip load because of reduced deflection and vibration.
Optionally, the new NH4000 DCG also features an autocoupler with ports for hydraulics (up to 3000 psi), pneumatics and work seating detection. An autocoupler permits permanent piping of the fixturing to the pallet, enabling easy exchange of pallets and eliminating external piping that can accumulate chips. |
